Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 2014 Thank You!

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 2014This year the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer was fast approaching & although many generous people already donated, my $1,800 goal was about $1k short. That's when the whole "shave the beard or keep it" for $1,000 came up. So thankful that Beck's Shoes Inc. stepped up and accepted that challenge. They also set me up with some amazingly comfortable New Balance San Jose shoes & socks. Look mom, no blisters! Again, thanks to Beck's & everyone else too for helping me surpass the goal!!

**UPDATE**: Beck's Shoes accepted the $1,000 Challenge! We are still taking any donations you can afford for early detection  & treatment! $1,000 CHALLENGE! Over the past #192days, this beard has grown, and grown, and grown some more. Many people have asked when I was going to shave. A friend suggested I shave it for a donation to my favorite charity, but I figured I'd take it one more step. If any one person or company, with a single donation, donates $1,000 to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer using my link, I will KEEP or SHAVE my #192day beard. You have until 5/22/14 to make that $1,000 donation. This person or company will be recognized in the following ways. - A post on my homepage with your picture or logo. DancingCowboy.com - A post on my Facebook, Instagram & Twitter with your picture or logo. - Four mentions during the James Wesley Rodeo Club show. (600-900 people at a live show) - If shave is your choice, the option to make the first run of the electric clippers (before lessons at the James Wesley show). - Sorry, no 420 or XXX companies allowed. I will have the last say with regards to propriety. - If the donor wishes me to keep the beard, it will stay, AT LEAST, for the duration of the 365 days until #NoShaveNovember 2014 begins (Nov 1st, 2014) Should it stay, or should it go? A $1,000 donation decides!

Crash My Party by Luke Bryan

Before the album Crash My Party came out, I had only heard the two singles, "Crash My Party," and "That's My Kind of Night," in their recorded version.

When the album came out tonight, I listened to rest of it and came to one conclusion. Just about ANY song would have been better than "That's My Kind of Night" (winner, winner, catfish dinner) to issue as a follow-up to "Crash My Party."

The rest of the album has the familiar combination Luke usually brings to his music, great lyrics and good music.

I would definitely recommend Crash My Party, and you even get a digital download if you buy the physical CD. How can you go wrong there?

Country Axis in Santa Clara - CLOSED

I want to THANK everyone who came out to support the Grand Opening and the following Thursday nights that we taught lessons and DJed at Country Axis! Unfortunately, after only a little over a month, they decided to cancel Country Axis Thursday nights. It takes quite a few bodies coming in the door to keep a club of that size open on a weekly basis, and the numbers just didn't support a Thursday country night during their opening month. Quite a few factors go into that including other closely timed country events, but I want to thank each of you who did come out to dance, to have fun and to support country in the South Bay.

At some point in the future, they might come back with another plan for country, but for now they are discontinuing Country Axis on Thursday nights.

Thomas Rhett at South First Billiards

This evening KRTY brought Thomas Rhett out to South First Billiards in San Jose, CA. Nate & Tina heard him play in Las Vegas recently and just had to have him come play here! He played an acoustic set including "Whatcha Got in that Cup," "Beer with Jesus," "Front Porch Junkie," & his latest radio single, "Something to Do with My Hands."

One guy from the crowd wanted him to sing a song his dad, Rhett Akins, made popular, "That Ain't My Truck." Rhett went one step further and brought the random audience member to sing with him!

Rhett also sang, "I Ain't Ready to Quit," a song he wrote that Jason Aldean recently recorded.

Afterwards, Rhett met all the fans who came out & signed autographs. Seems like a truly decent guy. I wish the best for him & his career.
